Ian Curry | Chairman
FCPA, FCIS, Dip Fin Planning

Ian worked in the financial services industry for nearly 40 years with the Colonial Group, holding a diverse range of positions, including CEO of Jardine CMG Asia (based in Hong Kong), General Manager, Colonial Mutual Life Australia CMLA and General Manager for (CMLA) New Zealand and Fiji. He was also Deputy Chairman and a Director of Lifeworks Relationship Counselling and Education Services for nine years and a Director of Peninsula Healthcare Network.

Ian joined the ASA in 2000. He currently chairs the Victorian Company Monitoring Committee (CMC) and is chairman of the Nominations Committee and a member of the Audit & Risk, Policy, Conference and Strategy Committees.

Betty Clarke-Wood
ACIP

Betty was an Australian Certified Investment Planner (ACIP) with Godfrey Westin Limited and also enjoyed a long career in local government, latterly as Assistant Shire Secretary/Rate Collector.

Betty joined the ASA in 1994. She is a member of the Victorian State Committee and the Conference Committee. Betty is also the convenor of the Ballarat Regional Group and a regular ASA contributor to local radio programs.

 

Barry Nunn
BSc (Chem Eng)

Barry was employed by the Shell Group in Australia and overseas for 36 years. Prior to his retirement he was a board member of Shell Australia and Executive Director of Human Resources and Public Affairs.

He began private management consultancy work in 1991, with special interest in business planning, change management, and organisation development. He also worked for KPMG Management Consulting, the Australian National Training Authority and chaired the 2001 Australian Defence Force Remuneration Review.

He was appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia (Military Division) in 1989 and was awarded a Centenary Medal in 2003.

Barry joined the ASA in 2009. He chairs the WA Branch Committee and is also chair of the Strategy Committee.

Denis O'Sullivan
B Com, FCPA, AAUQ, ANZIIF (Snr Assoc), SA FIN

Denis was the Chief Financial Officer of The Royal Automobile Club of Queensland (RACQ) for more than twenty years. He was also director of several RACQ wholly owned subsidiary companies with responsibility for the management of the organisation’s investment portfolio.

Denis joined the ASA in 2008. He chairs the Queensland Company Monitoring Committee and is a member of the Audit Committee.

 

Geoff Sherwin
FCA, F FIN, FAICD

Geoff was a senior partner with RSM Bird Cameron, a national chartered accounting firm until 1995. Since then he has enjoyed a portfolio of work, including company directorships, training and development, and accounting services.
