AN INTRODUCTION TO INVESTING IN THE SHARE MARKET COURSE

This one day course provides an introduction to the stock market and assumes little or no previous knowledge of investing or of the stock market.

From a consideration of the problems of investment risk and how to develop an investment plan, the course provides examples of different investing approaches using both technical and fundamental approaches. This provides a sound basis for understanding the investing process. A number of very practical aspects of investing will be covered, including, stock selection, how to open a stock brokers account, how to understand the order process, use the depth of market information and place orders.

Course attendees will be provided with introductory background material sent to them by email prior to the course. This introductory booklet covers the basics and essential background for investing, including many of the pitfalls which lead to losses by investors. A PDF copy of the course presentation will also be provided.

THE COURSE INCLUDES

• An understanding of the need for an investment plan
• An appreciation of investment risks and the way they can be managed
• An outline of the roles of fundamental and technical analysis in investing
• How to open and use a brokers account to buy and sell shares

• Record keeping and investment analysis.
