The role requires around 10 days a year in Board meetings, and in addition you should be willing to participate in and understand the key activities of the Association throughout the year. Directors are elected for 3-year terms, by our members at the AGM.

Call for nominations issued: 19 June 2026

Nominations close: 5pm, 31 July 2026

AGM: Director elections: May 2027

Board members are expected to act ethically and embody the ASA values of Integrity, Courage (to challenge and explore), as well as showing Respect and Support for all our stakeholders. In addition, it is important that you can work collaboratively with the Board and our Team, exercise sound judgement and appropriate oversight, and have a genuine interest in ASA and its purpose.

In early 2026, the Board finalised a structured self-assessment against a comprehensive Board Skills Matrix, mapping collective capability across 7 critical and 9 general strategic and governance competencies aligned to the organisation’s strategy.
