Vandita Pant

Chief Financial Officer, BHP

Vandita Pant was appointed Chief Financial Officer of BHP, effective 1 March 2024.

Based in Melbourne, Vandita has global accountabilities for capital allocation, treasury, investor relations and balance sheet management to support the Company’s strategic goals and value creation. She is currently also the Chair of the Board of Directors of BHP Foundation. 

Prior to her current role, Vandita was the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) of BHP based in Singapore, a position she held since July 2019. As the CCO, Vandita had global accountability for Marketing and Sales, that covers all commodities, procurement, maritime and responsibility for developing BHP’s view on the macroeconomic and global commodities markets. In this role, she led and signed BHP’s MOUs with BaoWu, HBIS, Daye and China Copper to partner on low carbon and green steel and copper value chains.  

Vandita’s career with BHP started in 2016, when she took on the role of Group Treasurer and Head of Europe. She has over 30 years of experience in the global corporate world, having worked in a variety of executive roles in banking across India, Singapore, Japan and the United Kingdom prior to joining BHP. 

Vandita debuted at #11 in the Forbes World’s Most Influential Chief Marketing Officers (CMOs) 2022 list. She has also been recognised amongst the Top 100 Global Inspirational Women in Mining. Vandita was presented with the Asian Women of Achievement Professions Award in the UK in 2017. This award recognises the contribution of Asian women in Britain, both professionally and as role models within their communities.  

Vandita holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) degree from Delhi University and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Lucknow.
